Latest Developer speak

This is a "Juliet Balcony", this is two feet away from a public footpath. Consists of floor to ceiling glass, a further sheet of armoured glass with railings flush with the wall. The doors open inwards.
A shear waste of materials with no possible benefit, function to mislead members of the Planning Committee. To give an appearance of attention to detail, who do they think they are fooling, who ever they are aimed at they must have a very low opinion of them.

Tudor House Pembroke

This block of flats were built with minimum disturbance to neighbours and no obstruction of local traffic. Situated on London Road Pembroke Dock they are an example of buildings which complement their surroundings. The front wall was adapted by cutting down the existing wall, it is quite elegant.
THEY SHOWN ARE HERE BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SAME HEIGHT AND ONLY ONE AND A HALF TIMES LONGER THAN THOSE PROPOSED FOR THE TUDOR HOUSE SITE PEMBROKE.
TO BE BUILT IN A CONSERVATION AREA ACROSS THE BURGAGE PLOTS NEXT TO GRADE 2* LISTED BUILDINGS SOME OF THE FINEST OF THEIR TYPE IN WALES.

The developers and PCC Planning Committee are treating the residents of Pembroke with contempt.

Castle Pond Pembroke Urbanisation?degradation

Castle Pond in 19382007 Contrasted with previous photograph of the author in 1938
PCC are carrying out these works BUT as they are the Planning Authority, they consider that works done by them do not require Planning Permission, or even notification or plans of these works to be made public. So the first thing residents know is days before the work is started
Security gone mad your and my money
This work is in preparation to widening the footpath, and destroying any conservation value mown rye grass rules ok. I will be publishing photographs of one year in the life of a wild flower meadow in the Mencap Gardens Stackpole, then you can make up your own minds which you prefer.
These fences courtesy PCC block access from Pembroke to the North Bank of Pembroke River
This gate is now locked

URGENT ACTION NEEDED by 17th November

There is a special general meeting of the CPRW on Saturday November 17th at Carno Community Centre (near Newtown) at 2pm. The quorum will be reduced by half if enough people don't object. Does it matter? The present system is designed to encourage democracy and that principle of democracy needs strengthening not weakening, which will be the result if the standing orders are amended.
REPORT OF THE MEETING
Quorum is half of the Executive Committee or not less than six.
Consideration will be given to altering or alternating the venue as members from Pembrokeshire have the furthest to travel along winding roads. A three hour drive and three hours back. Environmentaly unsustainable, too much for older members.

CPRW members update the site

We've just discovered this wonderful site.

07/0937/PA Tudor House reply to PCC by 211107

This is my first attempt to load in a set of documents. It is not satisfactory SO tell PCC to publish on their website all the documents they send out to neighbouring properties. Also any further correspondence they can easily delete names and signatures if any. There is no reason not to it is nonsense to have to go to Haverfordwest to examine them in the PCC Office

The proposed Marina/Housing development - another wildlife habitat to be lost. The Cleddau Estuary is one one the best salt water estuaries in the UK. In the life time of todays pensioners we have lost saltwater wildlife habitats at Waterloo Pill, The ASDA site, Pembroke Commons, The Mill Pond, Top Pond and Castle Pond Pembroke.

Has permission been given for these trees to be felled

At the foot of Gooses Lane Pembroke. Are these trees on PCCouncil land. Has permission been given for them to be felled if so why were they felled. If this is in preparation for stooling for coppicing or pollarding very good. But in future the trees should not be clear felled but carried out over a period of years so that the tree screen is not compromised. PCC should implement a plan for coppicing as most stone and bank walls are being destroyed by the weight of mature trees, as little regular coppicing has been carried out since the 1950s.

Planning Application

This is a major development which will provide a precedent and destroy the medieval settlement pattern of Pembroke. Fifteen appartments with roads in the back gardens of the listed buildings on the Main Street. The walls have been stripped of vegetation by PCC to identify those worthy of conservation even though these are the most important definers of the Conservation Area. The developer has been accumulating these plots for fifty years and must get planning permission before the Orders about development in gardens is published (if ever). If you want a precedent see 39 Main Street to Westgate Chapel to see previous similar institutional vandalism.

Burgage Walls under threat Pembroke

These walls in a Conservation area hidden behind ivy attached to listed buildings up to six metres in height built of limestone freestone with a lime mortar mix will not be protected as PCC has no money to enforce their retention and is not prepared to enforce their conservation by the owners see previous planning application.
